In the province of Misiones, located northeast of Argentina, there is one of the most wonderful attractions in the country, the world famous Iguazu Falls. These natural wonders are found within the National Park Iguazu and many tourists from all over the world come to visit them every year.
The waterfalls are called "Iguazú" by a Guaraní word, meaning "Big Water". This is exactly the best name for this incredible natural monument, considered one of the wonders of the world. The incredible waterfalls are created at the end of the Iguazú River up to the Paraná River in a spectacular waterfall of 80 meters and 4 kilometers wide.
It has 275 waterfalls and the most impressive of them is the Garganta del Diablo waterfall, with 80 meters high, which visitors can observe on a wooden walkway only 50 meters away.
There are many routes to discover these wonderful waterfalls. One of them is through stairs created in the same stone to descend to the banks of the Iguazu River. There you can observe the fall of the waterfalls and also navigate the river to the island of San Martin. Another interesting attraction is to visit and enjoy the natural pool created by the fall of the waterfall of Dos Hermanas.
Visitors can also walk the upper wooden walkways, to observe the waterfalls falling from the height. This is the most impressive view of Iguazu, where visitors can see the huge Bossetti and El Chico waterfalls, and of course the amazing Garganta del Diablo, where the border of Argentina and Brazil is located.
To protect this fabulous natural area, which was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Argentina created the Iguazú National Park, with 67 hectares of rivers and jungles. Here visitors will find viewpoints and islands created by delta rivers and will also get in touch with tropical vegetation such as ceibos, the natural flower of Argentina, palm trees, laurels and other species.
At National Park Iguazu there is also wildlife like catis, toucans, Eagles Y Lizards and even animals in danger of extinction like the yaguarete, yacare, anteater and others who find in this park a protected natural environment.
This national park is located just 17 kilometers from the city of Puerto Iguazú, a city fully equipped for tourism, with international hotels, banks, casinos, shops and all the services and amenities that your guests may need during their stay. There are also places of recreation on the banks of the Iguazú River such as a golf course, restaurants, craft fairs with elements of Brazilian, Paraguayan and Argentinean cultures, among others.
It also has many thematic museums related to the tropical environment of the area, such as the Museum of Images of the Jungle, the Mbororé Museum and others.
This city is also the triple border between Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina, so it offers many alternatives for adventure tourism. It is also the perfect place to enjoy a wonderful vacation in a tropical and magical paradise. For all this, Foz do Iguaçu and Misiones are a must during your trip to the incredible Argentina.
